Dr. Erika Pfeiler is a senior microbiology consultant at Valsource, Inc. She joined ValSource in 2025 following 15 years at FDA with experience in the pharmaceutical microbiology assessments of ANDAs, BLAs, NDAs, and INDs, as well as experience with inspection and compliance activities. Her areas of particular interest in pharmaceutical microbiology include rapid microbiological testing methods, pharmacy compounding, and the microbiological aspects of nonsterile products. Dr. Pfeiler has an educational background in food microbiology, and received a BS from the University of Tennessee and a PhD from North Carolina State University.
