Christine Günther, MD Apceth

Christine Günther, M.D., has been Managing Director, Chief Medical Officer and Qualified Person at apceth Biopharma since 2008 (then apceth). She is a clinical hematologist and oncologist by training with extensive experience in clinical stem cell transplantation, transplantation immunology and cell therapies.

Her particular area of expertise is pharmaceutical development and clinical implementation of complex cell- and gene therapy products. In the last years apceth Biopharma developed into one of the pioneering companies in the cell- and gene therapy field based on its technology of genetic modification of MSC and the successful implementation of a Contract Manufacturing Unit.

Before joining apceth, Christine Günther worked as Medical Director and Qualified Person at a German public stem cell and cord blood bank. She started her medical career started at the University Hospital in Munich and a large academic Hospital in Munich where she performed the curriculum for Internal Medicine/ Oncology and Hematology and has been working as a senior resident. Before that, she received a scientific grant for experimental stem cell transplantation at the Helmholtz-Society in Munich. Dr. Günther studied Human Medicine at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich.
