Christopher Hwang PhD Transcenta

Chris brings over 30 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, with expertise in CMC development, technology transfer, and manufacturing. He currently serves as CTO and EVP of Process Development at Transcenta, where he oversees CMC development and spearheads the creation and implementation of advanced biomanufacturing platforms. These innovations aim to significantly reduce costs, enhance operational agility, and improve patient access to groundbreaking biologics. Before joining Transcenta in 2016, Chris dedicated 25 years to Genzyme and Sanofi as Senior Director in Late-Stage Process Development. During his tenure, he led the Integrated Continuous Biomanufacturing (ICB) program and was the technical lead for numerous clinical and commercial-stage products. Chris earned his Ph.D. in Biochemical Engineering from M.I.T.
