Cormac O'Prey Kestrel Technology

Cormac launched Kestrel Technology Consulting in 2017, following a 27 year career in product development consultancy, with a focus on medical device development. He has worked on numerous drug delivery, ophthalmic, surgical, medical and diagnostic projects including innovative collaboration projects on novel injection technologies, and this is still the primary business of Kestrel today. In parallel, he has been working with BSi and ISO on cross-sector standards and best practice guidelines for sustainable product design and manufacture since the early 2000’s. In 2021 he founded BSi TPR 1/7/5 - a dedicated BS 8887: Design for Manufacture, Assembly, Disassembly and End of Life Processing Subcommittee to progress sustainable design and manufacture in medical. To support this he has presented on behalf of BSi at several conferences on sustainability in medical and has published in industry journals including OnDrugDelivery. He lectures in Engineering Design and Global Business Environment and International Strategy at ARU Cambridge.
