Jason Treese Galapagos

Jake Treese is the Global Head of Quality at Galapagos since March 2024. Jake has 30+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, supporting the development, licensure and commercialization of products across all modalities, including autologous cell therapies, large molecule biopharms, vaccines, and oral solid dosages. At Galapagos, we are working to develop, grow and commercialize a decentralized, autologous CAR T manufacturing network, with the intention of bringing drug product closer to patients. The innovative Galapagos model leverages automated manufacturing and rapid testing to enable delivery of fresh CAR T cells to the patients in seven days after leukapheresis. Prior to Galapagos, Jake was the VP Quality, Cell Therapy Manufacturing at Bristol Myers Squibb, overseeing Quality at five different sites, including the manufacture of Abecma and Breyanzi, as well as the BMS pipeline of cell therapy products. Prior to that role, Jake was the Head of Quality for BMS at the Summit, New Jersey site, for the licensure of Abecma, the industry's first licensed CAR T product for Multiple Myeloma. Prior to BMS, Jake has held positions of increasing responsiblity in Manufacturing and in Quality at Merck, GSK, AstraZeneca and Eisai. Jake lives in New Jersey with his wife and three children.
