Karin Felderer Pieris Pharmaceuticals

Dr. Karin Felderer has 14 years of experience in the biotechnology industry focusing on research and development of innovative biopharmaceuticals, with a particular interest in developability assessment and data science.

She is currently the Director and Head of Technical Development at Pieris Pharmaceuticals in Hallbergmoos, Germany. In this role, she manages the Technical Development department, overseeing the early-stage material supply from prokaryotic and mammalian expression systems, developability and manufacturability assessment of therapeutic formats, cell line development, upstream and downstream processing, analytical and formulation development. Dr. Felderer received her Ph.D. in Molecular Structural Biology from the Max-Planck-Institute of Biochemistry in Martinsried, Germany. She also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California at Berkeley, CA, USA, where she focused on protein purification and structural analysis using electron microscopy.
