My career has focused on pioneering work in the area of gene therapy, with a focus on basic, translational, and clinical investigation in gene therapy. I am an Emeritus Professor at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. I currently serve as President of Therapeutics at AskBio, a a leading, clinical-stage gene therapy. Previously I was the co-founder, president and chief scientific officer and board member of Spark Therapeutics.
