Keisuke Yusa, PhD National Institute of Health Sciences

Keisuke Yusa has been working for the National Institute of Health Sciences in Japan for 6 years as a chief of laboratory of virus safety. He received his Ph.D. in Biology from Biological Institute, in Tohoku University. After a post-doctoral fellowship for three years at Foundation of Cancer Research, he joined the staff of Cancer Chemotherapy Center, Tokyo. Then he had three-year experience of HIV research as a guest researcher in the NCI/NIH, Bethesda, and continued to work in the same research field in Kumamoto University until 2009 as an assistant professor. He currently studies calicivirus, parvovirus and retrovirus from a safety point of view for biopharmaceuticals and tissue engineering.
