Since joining Amgen in October 2009, Kerry has had the privilege to lead Corporate Engineering, Colorado Site Operations, and the Drug Substance manufacturing network. He currently serves as Vice President, Regional Manufacturing, leading Site Operations at Dun Laoghaire, Ireland with additional responsibilities for oversight of manufacturing operations at Breda, The Netherlands.

Kerry was commissioned at the United States Naval Academy in May 1983. He served at sea in four nuclear-powered attack submarines, including command of USS ASHEVILLE (SSN 758). He also commanded Submarine Squadron NINETEEN, comprised of six OHIO-class submarines and ten submarine crews. His sea service involved numerous independent submarine operations from the Arctic Ocean to the Persian Gulf.

Shore duty included service as Plant Manager of a land-based reactor plant; Senior Member of the US Pacific Fleet Nuclear Propulsion inspection team; director of Political-Military affairs for coalition forces in Afghanistan; and Military Assistant to the Deputy Secretary of Defense. He retired from naval service in September 2009.

Kerry's formal education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the US Naval Academy and a Master of Arts degree in International Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University.
