Matthias Winzer Merck KGaA

Matthias is Director/ADC Drug Product Expert within the department Pharmaceutical Technologies at Merck Healthcare Darmstadt/Germany. He is a biotechnology engineer by training. Besides his expertise in formulation and drug product development of biologics and ADCs he also worked in several roles on the drug substance USP/DSP in the industry as well as in academia. He worked with BASF Ludwigshafen/Germany in the monitoring of microbial production with PAT, for the Hans-Knoell Institute for Natural Product Research/Germany at microbial fermentation and also for ProThera/Germany (acquired by Wacker-Biotech) for QC/characterization of recombinant therapeutic proteins. Matthias also worked for Merck Healthcare: Biotech USP/DSP CDMO management and project manager in biotech process science.
