Prior to West, worked for 13 years at Piramal Critical Care, developing process chemistry, analytical methods, extractables and leachables studies, transfer devices and container-closure systems for inhalation anesthetics. Before Piramal, worked for 9 years at Air Products and Chemicals, developing hydrogenation catalysts, amine curatives, surfactants and fluorinated molecules. Ph.D. in organometallic chemistry from the California Institute of Technology and B.S. in chemistry from Harvey Mudd College.
