Dr. Mingzhe Xu is Deputy Director of Institute for Chemical Drug Control, China National Institutes for Food and Drug Control (NIFDC); currently he is also the Director of antibiotic laboratory. He is responsible for managing the scientific business and quality management system of Institute for Chemical Drug Control. He is also responsible for the international collaboration and communication, especially the collaboration with WHO in terms of quality control of pharmaceutical preparations. He was appointed by WHO in 2019 as the member of WHO Expert Committee on Specifications for Pharmaceutical Preparations. In addition to WHO, He is also the focal point in NIFDC for the collaboration with a number of international counterparties, e.g. USP, EDQM, APEC, etc.

Dr. Xu has twenty years of experience in the field of laboratory analytical science and in management. Dr Xu joined NIFDC in 2000 after graduating from Peking University, one of top two prestigious universities in China. He worked ten years in quality control and research on antibiotics in laboratory. And then he moved to different management positions in charge of the testing business management within NIFDC.
