Nathan Boley, PhD Driver

Nathan Boley is the head of engineering at Driver. He is currently leading efforts to build a consumer technology platform for matching cancer patients with clinical trials. This has involved building a fully-automated robotic system for sequencing the DNA of tumor biopsies and tissue samples, cell-free DNA, and mRNA transcripts; creating an analysis platform to identify somatic variants, germline variants, and gene expression profiles; and developing a machine learning platform for extracting clinical information from medical records.

Previously as a postdoc at Stanford, Nathan was the lead computational analyst for a genomics of gene regulation project, and co-organized a DREAM transcription factor binding challenge. As a statistics PhD student at the University of California at Berkeley, Nathan was the lead analyst for the modENCODE Drosophila transcriptome assembly project.
