Nathan Roth, PhD CSL Behring

Nathan is the Senior Director and Head of Global Pathogen Safety at CSL Behring and currently based in Bern, Switzerland. He is responsible for strategy and coordination of all pathogen safety activities across CSL Behring’s virology labs in addition to having overall responsibility for pathogen safety matters related to strategy and support for CSL Behring’s plasma derived and recombinant biotherapeutic medicines.

Prior to joining CSL Behring, Nathan was Sr. Director, Pathogen Safety at Grifols (formerly Talecris Biotherapeutics and Bayer Healthcare) where he oversaw the North Carolina based Pathogen Safety department and NAT plasma testing labs.

Nathan currently serves on the Pathogen Safety Steering Committee of the Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA) and on the Steering Committee for the Consortium on Adventitious Agent Contamination in Biomanufacturing (CAACB). Dr. Roth holds a Bachelor of Science in Cellular, Molecular, and Microbial Biology and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Calgary.
