Rakesh Kumar, PhD Specialty Coating Systems, Inc.

Dr. Rakesh Kumar was born in India, in 1965. He is currently the V.P. of Technology for Specialty Coating Systems, Inc., where he leads the R&D group and manages Parylene R&D activities worldwide. He has more than 25 years of extensive experience in polymeric materials and their applications in the medical, electronics and semiconductors areas. He is currently involved with the application of Parylenes in the field of medical, electronics, MEMS, sensors, and nanotechnology. Dr. Kumar earned his doctoral degrees in Chemistry from India, and completed his post-doctorate work at the UCL, U.K. He is co-author of a book and has authored several published papers and patents.
