Richard Jaenisch, MPH, Director of Education and Outreach at Open Biopharma Research and Training Institute, plays a pivotal role in addressing ecosystem-spanning biomanufacturing challenges through education and community building. His work focuses fostering partnerships with industry and community organizations to support biopharma advancements. He’s driven by Open Biopharma’s goal of reducing drug prices by expanding training and apprenticeship opportunities, offering strategies and opportunities to aid accelerating the time-to-market for novel therapeutics and providing a space for industry professionals to find community. Rick has both his Undergraduate and Graduate degrees from CSU San Marcos, his BA is In Economics, Political Science and History, while his Graduate degree, a Master’s in Public Health focused on Global Epidemics and the FDA EUA concerning COVID-19. Rick’s work is driven by his personal story and advocacy, as an established patient advocate for Hepatitis C (HCV) elimination and liver transplant. His lived experience and advocacy, combined with his passion for advancing the biomanufacturing industry, makes him a key player in bridging the gap between patient needs and industry innovations. Concerned about AI’s applications with patients, Rick co-founded Prompting Integration and Consulting LLC, where he works on advancing Generative AI/ML integration in healthcare and life sciences.
