Rohini Deshpande Amgen

Dr. Rohini Deshpande is Executive Director in Process Development at Amgen. She has held many leadership positions through her 18 plus years at the company.

She joined Amgen in 1997 in the Mammalian Gene Expression department which later became Protein Science. In Protein Science, she led cell line development and large scale protein production.

In 2007, she joined P&PD and continued to lead cell line development, part of cell culture process development, and the molecule assessment process.
From 2011 to 2014, she led the ATO drug substance development group.

Currently, she is leading Attribute Sciences in Process Development within Operations. Prior to Amgen, she was a postdoctoral fellow at UCLA and at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and received a Ph.D. in Biology from State University of New York at Binghamton and a M.S. in Medical Microbiology from B.J. Medical College, Pune, India.
