OVERVIEW
This immersive training course provides foundational knowledge and hands-on experience in aseptic processing tailored specifically for the unique challenges of cell and gene therapy (CGT) manufacturing. Participants will explore the principles, practices, and regulatory expectations that underpin sterile production environments, with a focus on the complexities introduced by living therapies and personalized medicine.
Through a combination of lectures, demonstrations, and interactive labs, attendees will gain practical skills in gowning, environmental monitoring, contamination control, and aseptic manipulations within ISO 5/Grade A environments in the production process of ATMPs.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this event, the attendee will be able to:
- Understand effective environmental monitoring programs.
- Design workflow setup.
- Perform aseptic operations including gowning, filtration, cell culture techniques, and cleanroom behaviors in simulated environments.
- Evaluate aseptic processing procedures and identify areas for improvement.
- Assess contamination risks using airflow visualization and risk-based thinking.
- Analyze cleanroom production operations to ensure proper interventions and aseptic techniques.
- Apply microbiological principles to aseptic processing and contamination control.
- Demonstrate proficiency in cleaning and disinfection strategies and techniques using validated methods.

PDA reserves the right to modify the material or speakers/trainers without notice or to cancel an event. If an event is cancelled, registrants will be notified by PDA immediately and will receive a credit (registration fee paid). PDA will not be responsible for any costs incurred by registrants due to cancellation. Please note that the attendee list is shared with attendees, trainers, and exhibitors and may be used to follow up on specific areas of interest after the event. Video, photo, and audio recordings are prohibited at all PDA events.
CANCELLATION: If a cancellation request is received 30 days before the event, a credit (registration fee paid minus a 200.00 USD/EUR processing fee) will be given. No credits will be given for cancellation requests received less than 30 days before the event. Cancellation requests must be emailed to registration@pda.org.
