PDA Packaging Science Interest Group Virtual Meeting June 2025

Hi PDA Members and Industry Professionals, 

We are excited to announce that the PDA Packaging Science Interest Group will hold a virtual meeting on Wednesday, 18 June at 9:00AM - 10:00AM EDT to discuss: Analytical Strategies in Medical Devices Characterization in accordance with ISO 10993-18 and -17.

ISO 10993-18 and -17 are one of the most discussed industry guidelines in the world of materials characterization and assessment. How to bridge the gap between ISO 10993-18 & -17 and authorities’ requirements for medical device with focus on packaging materials components?

In this session we will cover approaches and analytical strategies following ISO 10993-18 & -17 with a look at how additional steps like risk assessment and pre-screening can help gain initial information about extractables, their potential source and risk assessment. And looking ahead to how this area may evolve.
