15 Years of Innovation in Parenteral Packaging – What Will the Next 15 Bring?
On behalf of the PDA and the Scientific Program Planning Committee, it is our pleasure to welcome you to this year’s 15th-anniversary edition of the PDA Parenteral Packaging Conference, taking place in the beautiful city of Malaga, Spain, from 25 to 26 March 2025. This milestone event brings us together to address the most pressing challenges and innovations shaping our field. Over the past 15 years, the landscape of parenteral packaging has evolved significantly, reflecting both the ingenuity and adaptability of our industry.
This year’s conference represents a unique platform for advancing our understanding, sharing expertise, and fostering collaboration in areas crucial to patient safety and product efficacy. Alongside our timely agenda topics—including PFAS regulations, Container Closure Integrity Testing (CCIT), sustainability initiatives, and innovative packaging solutions—we will reflect on the transformative changes that have shaped our field over the last decade and a half.
The evolution of prefilled syringes, for instance, has revolutionized drug delivery, offering unparalleled precision and convenience. Similarly, the advent of advanced materials like polymers has expanded possibilities for safer, more versatile packaging. Automation and traceability—increasingly powered by AI technologies—are reshaping manufacturing and quality assurance processes. The COVID-19 pandemic has been a pivotal force, emphasizing the need for agility and resilience across the supply chain. And ongoing regulatory changes have continuously guided us toward greater compliance, safety, and innovation.
In addition to these discussions, the plenary and parallel sessions will delve deeply into sterilization and cold chain solutions, each vital to ensuring the quality and reliability of packaged products. A rich lineup of presentations awaits, complemented by ample opportunities for networking during coffee and lunch breaks. And don’t miss our networking party, a chance to connect in a more informal setting, and be sure to explore the technical posters showcasing innovative research and projects from leading experts.
As the demand for safer, more sustainable, and efficient packaging solutions grows, our collective efforts remain pivotal. We are confident that the insights gained during this 15th edition will not only inform current practices but also drive meaningful progress for years to come.
Thank you to our speakers, panellists, sponsors, and participants for making this gathering possible. Your engagement and expertise fuel the transformative discussions that our industry needs. We look forward to the valuable connections, knowledge sharing, and innovations this conference will inspire – all set against the vibrant and inspiring background of Malaga.
