Our 20th edition of this vital meeting will take place in Gothenburg, Sweden, from 17-18 October 2023. This year, we are excited to return to the beautiful city of Gothenburg, known for its culinary scene, friendly people and seaside charm. Furthermore, Gothenburg was ranked #1 by the Global Destination Sustainability Index in 2022 for the seventh year in a row, making it a well-placed, responsible and culturally engaging location for our event.
Since its inception, this conference has been a cornerstone for our industry to learn, share, debate and collaborate to face common challenges and drive forward innovation in injectable drug delivery. The conference made its humble debut in Europe in 2004 with a focus on pre-filled syringes and an attendance of fewer than 100 people. Since then, it has expanded to the United States, grown tremendously in scope and attendance, and enabled the creation of various task forces that serve important missions in our industry. After 20 years, we remain reflective, proud of our purpose and grateful for our collective achievements. Today, the PDA Universe of Pre-Filled Syringes and Injection Devices Conference is the perfect platform to present breakthrough innovations, help foster knowledge and contribute to the wider pharmaceutical and medical device industries’ shared purpose of improving global health.
Consistent with our strong history, we are creating another exciting program focused on the most impactful and current topics of interest, such as the delivery of novel therapeutics, digital health and sustainability. Our program offers you the invaluable opportunity to expand your knowledge and identify new technologies, approaches and business opportunities. About the Author
Alessandro Morandotti leads the technical promotion of the Stevanato Group solutions. He has a background in electronic engineering with a master’s degree in biomedical applications and devices from the University of Padua. In the primary packaging field for over 20 years, his work has focused on pharmaceutical glass products, combination products and drug delivery devices. As a PDA member, Morandotti has attended several conferences and, in the past few years, has provided presentations and lectures about primary packaging solutions.
Theresa Bankston, PhD, is the Vice President of Customer Success at Becton Dickenson. She is responsible for delivering maximum business value across the customer lifecycle, including leading customer scientific advisory services, customer project and program management, and customer combination product development and testing services. Bankston has over 20 years of combined experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries with a broad range of expertise in drug characterization and analytical method development, drug and device process and engineering development, and injection and drug-container integration science. Theresa received her BS in biochemistry from Florida State University and her PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Virginia.
