PDA New England Chapter

The PDA New England Chapter is an association of biopharma professionals, both experienced and recently entering the field, and associated solution providers. The association provides opportunities for networking, sharing industry best practices (live and virtual), and educational opportunities through dinner meetings and webinars. Annually the Chapter offers undergraduate scholarships to the next generation of biopharma professionals in New England.
The NEPDA was formed in 1988 and represented a subset of the Global PDA members located in the six New England states: Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Maine, and Connecticut.

Attend our Dinner Meetings!
The NEPDA chapter hosts dinner meetings at diverse New England locations on exciting industry topics with engaging speakers and lively audience participation.
Each dinner meeting is sponsored to help defray the cost of the meetings. In return for sponsoring an event, companies gain exposure to our membership by prominent recognition in meeting announcements and exhibit tables during the meeting's registration/networking period.
We also offer reduced prices for retired / unemployed and full-time college students who are NEPDA Student Members.

Webinars focus on the fast-paced changes that affect our ever-changing work environments with exciting industry topics, engaging speakers and question and answer periods for the attendees to clarify questions they may have. Participate in our Board Meetings!
All the Board Meetings are held virtually. 2023 Board Meetings are held on the first Monday of every month from 6 pm to 7 pm. Agendas for board meetings include a wrap up of past events and planning for future events along with reporting on status of the treasury, the membership rolls, and exchange ideas and camaraderie.
At NEPDA Board Meetings, we ensure that all the committees are on schedule and working toward the same common NEPDA goals. Some committees are Communications, Events, Webinar, Sponsorship, Membership, Volunteer, and Nominating. Event Planning/Social Media Communications
- Events Committee
Researches and selects function spaces and menus, generates the event information for posting, develops the event follow-up information, provides images from the events, and chooses Meeting Managers to host the night's event. - Communications Committee
Develops communication strategies through PDA's marketing channels by preparing event announcements, post-event newsletters, and email correspondence to chapter members - Social Media Committee
Develops and implements the NEPDA social media strategy to connect with current and new chapter members. - Sponsorship Committee
Responsible for the overall coordination of soliciting sponsorship opportunities and interfaces with sponsor contacts at events.
Chapter Member Recruitment and Recognition Initiatives

Reaches out to expired members, develops new ways to gain new members, and tracks the health of the NEPDA membership./li> - Volunteer Committee
Coordinates volunteer recruitment for the NEPDA chapter and volunteer recognition efforts. - Nominating Committee
Research candidates to assume board positions every two years and present their candidates to the board. - Scholarship Committee
Coordinates the application, delivery, and selection process for the NEPDA scholarships.

Student Chapter
The NEPDA Middlesex Community College (MCC) Student Chapter shares PDA's mission, "to provide a local forum for discussion, meetings and information exchange." The NEPDA MCC Student Chapter involves members with the most updated topics in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical Industry, promotes science discussions, and builds relationships between PDA professionals and students.
The New England PDA Student Chapter was founded in 2008 at the Middlesex Community College under past PDA President-Elect Jerry Boudreault. The first student officers were Matt Piasecki (President), Maurice Perez (President-Elect), Wayne Landis (Secretary), and Lackhena Pak (Treasurer). The initial faculty sponsors were JesseKlein and Paul Patev.
In 2022, Paul Patev, Patricia Richard, and Dr. Maryluci Bladon are the faculty advisors.

Who can participate?
Students from the Middlesex Community College (MCC) with a PDA membership can participate in the NEPDA Student Chapter.
How our meetings are organized?
We meet on ZOOM on the second Friday of each month during the academic year, from September to May. During our meetings, we may have guest speakers. We organize tours to biotech/pharmaceutical companies.
Students are encouraged
