Barry Conlon FreightWatch International

Barry was appointed to his current role based on recognition of his status in the cargo security industry and his depth of knowledge about security practices and cargo theft intelligence. Prior to his appointment, he held a number of senior management positions within the company, including CEO from 2010 to 2013. As CEO, Barry took FreightWatch, founded as a private company, through its first public fund raising to acquisition by Sensitech, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. In 2005, he was appointed General Manager of FreightWatch USA, a subsidiary of FreightWatch, and oversaw the company’s growth as a leading logistic security company in the U.S. He has been a member of the senior management team since 1998. Prior to FreightWatch, Barry spent more than twenty years as a security professional. He began his career in the Irish Defense Forces (IDF) where he spent eleven years as a Specialist Team leader in the IDF Special Operations Forces, the Army Ranger Wing and then joined Risk Management International, an Irish based risk consultancy firm. Raised in Ireland, Barry has resided in the U.S. since 2000 and is a United States citizen. Barry currently resides in Austin, Texas.
