Daniel Strauss, PhD Asahi Kasei Bioprocess
Daniel Strauss leads the Research and Development group at Asahi Kasei Bioprocess America in Glenview, Illinois. His work focuses on providing data to better understand the capabilities and limitations of Planova virus filters and on providing solutions to improve the ability of customers to provide safe biotherapeutic products to their patients.
Danny received a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2005. He then completed his post-doctoral research in the viral clearance group at Genentech, Inc. until 2008 and worked as a Research Scientist in the viral clearance group at Eli Lilly and Co. until starting with AKBA in 2012. He is a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and Parenteral Drug Association (PDA), as well as an active participant in the Consortium on Adventitious Agent Contamination in Biomanufacturing (CAACB) and the Membrane Engineering, Science and Technology (MAST) Center.
