Dennis Bensley, PhD FDA

Dr. Bensley is a member of FDA/CVM’s Office of New Animal Drug Evaluation (ONADE) leadership team and Director of ONADE’s Division of Manufacturing Technologies (DMT). CVM is responsible for regulating drugs, devices and food additives used in both food-producing and companion animals. DMT is responsible for the pre-market review of the chemistry, manufacturing, and controls (CMC) information for all innovator and generic animal drug products and medicated articles intended for feed; and is also responsible for the management of CVM’s Pre-Approval Inspection compliance program. After receiving a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from West Virginia University and a few years of post-doctoral research developing drugs for cancer treatment at Georgetown University, Dr. Bensley joined CVM in 1990 as a pre-market CMC reviewer and has been with DMT/CVM for over 25 years.
