Randall Thompson Shire

Randall Thompson is a quality operations professional with over 20 years of cGMP biotechnology experience. He is currently a Principal Scientist within the Quality Control Global Microbiology department at Shire and has provided project management support for the improvement of aseptic technique programs and maintains a strong passion for contamination control and prevention since he started there in 2010. Randall has previously managed microbial testing and characterization laboratories and has experience leading companywide projects focused on Operational Excellence (OE) and Lean laboratory processing. Additionally he has been an active member of the PDA and the BioPhorum Operations Group (BPOG). Randall holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Salem State University. Prior to joining Shire, he was employed within the QC laboratories at Wyeth (now Pfizer) in Andover, Ma.
