Robert West Food and Drug Administration

Robert West is an Assistant Special Agent in Charge, Investigative Operations Division, HQs, FDA, Office of Criminal Investigations (FDA/OCI), Rockville, MD. He received his BS degree from Troy University and spent 21 years as a Special Agent with the US Army Criminal Investigation Command. Upon retirement in1996, he was hired by FDA/OCI and assigned to the Nashville Domicile, Miami Field Office. While assigned to the Nashville Domicile, he has been involved in many investigations involving drug diversion, clinical trial fraud, and other investigations involving blood derivatives. For the past 4 years, he has been instrumental in the investigation of two major drug diversion criminal organizations responsible for purchasing and distributing over $700 million worth of diverted and counterfeit pharmaceuticals. During his tenure with OCI, he has received the Commissioner's Special Citation for his involvement in a multi-million dollar clinical trial fraud investigation.
