Zhengqi Gao PhD MIT Phd student

Zhengqi Gao is a fourth year PhD student at MIT EECS, advised by Prof. Duane S. Boning. Previously, he obtained my M.S. and B.E. from School of Microelectronics, Fudan University, where he worked closely with Prof. Jun Tao and Prof. Xin Li (Duke Univ.) in the area of electronic design automation (specifically, Bayes methods for DFM). His current research interests lie mainly in design automation for elecronic and photonic integrated circuits, novel computing paradigm, and applied machine learning. He interned at Baidu, Shanghai Qizhi AI Insitute, and Nvidia Research. His research has been recognized with several honors, including being named an ML and Systems Rising Star in 2024, an editor's highlight from Optica Express in 2024 and from Photonics Research in 2023, an ICLR’23 spotlight paper (top 5%), and the Biren scholarship (1 out of 3 nationwide) in 2020, among a few others.
