Francesco Boschi Pfizer

Francesco Boschi studied Biology at the University of Milan and obtained his post-doc Degree in Applied Biotechnology in 1997. He has a 25 years’ experience within different QA and QC positions in the area of industrial microbiology and sterility assurance (Pharmacia & Upjohn, Patheon, Eli Lilly, GSK). His current position (since 2018) is within the Pfizer global Microbiology and Aseptic Team (MAS), providing support and resources in Microbiology, Aseptic and Non-Aseptic Manufacturing Processes, and related areas (such as Contamination Control Strategy, Aseptic Process Simulations, Sterilization technology, investigations).

Since 2010 Francesco is Chairman of the Microbiology Interest Group within AFI (Italian pharmaceutical manufacturer association): the mission of this Group is to bring together pharmaceutical microbiologists from the Italian Pharmaceutical Companies for benchmarking, sharing of good practices and the production of scientific papers. Since 2021, he has been also actively participating to the Revised Annex 1 Working Group within ISPE Italy Affiliate with the purpose of allowing an harmonized interpretation of the revised Annex 1 requirements within the industry.

Francesco is member of PDA, PDA Italy Chapter and ASTM Committee E55 and he has presented training seminars and lectures both in national and international Events related to microbiology and aseptic manufacturing.
