Saso Jezernik, PhD Altran

Saso Jezernik received the Dipl.Ing. degree in Electrical Engineering (M.Sc.E.E.) with specialization in Control Theory and Process Automation from the Technical University of Graz, Austria, in 1996, and a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Aalborg University, Denmark in 1999.

For the past 15 years, he has been employed as Business Manager and Expert Consultant for Altran in Switzerland focusing on innovation, mechatronics, and medical device areas (working on combination products (insulin pumps, other medical injectors, advanced syringes), surgical instruments, and active and passive implant systems like deep brain and cochlear implants).

Saso was a coordinator of the EU FP7 project on “innovation management SW platform” and is a designated EU FP7 healthcare innovation reviewer, also evaluating EU Flagship R&I Human Brain Project. He holds 4 US patents and has 18 peer-reviewed publications. He also serves as a reviewer for major medical and biomedical engineering journals.
