Brandye Michaels, PhD Pfizer, Inc.

Dr. Michaels joined Pfizer in 2005, and is currently a Senior Principal Scientist and Group Leader for Analytical R&D Microbiology. She provides scientific leadership for routine microbiological testing/environmental monitoring, and the development of methods that enable release of clinical GMP drug substance and drug product for a broad range of biological therapeutics. Dr. Michaels serves on many internal drug development teams providing microbiological expertise for BLA and IND filing strategy. She has a strong passion for Alternative and Rapid Microbiological Methods (ARMM) and new technologies which will enable manufacturing initiatives such as Flexible and Adaptive manufacturing. She is on the Pfizer ARMM steering team and contributes to Pfizer's global strategy for ARMM implementation. Dr. Michaels holds a Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of New Hampshire with an emphasis in bacterial genetics and bacterial physiology. Prior to joining Pfizer, she was employed in the QC laboratories at Lonza Biologics in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
