David Pérez Caballero, PhD AEMPS

David Pérez Caballero studied Biological Sciences at the University of Seville (Spain). Later he studied the relationship between the Complement System and certain pathologies. With these studies he earned a PhD in Molecular Biology at the Autonomous University of Madrid (Spain). After his PhD degree, he joined Dr. Bieniasz’s lab as a post-doctoral fellow and later on as a Research Scientist to study various steps of HIV viral cycle, focusing on the role of some human proteins in the inhibition of HIV viral replication at Rockefeller University (New York, USA). After the extensive appointment at Dr. Bieniasz’s Lab, he joined Regeneron Pharmaceuticals as Staff Scientist to work on therapeutic human monoclonal antibodies to treat RSV and HIV infections. Three years ago, he moved back to Spain to work as Quality Assessor at the Spanish Medicines Agency (AEMPS). He has be involved in quality assessment of biological products and advance therapies for National Clinical Trials, VHPs and products through EMA centralized procedure.
