Jeff Ellis, PhD EWI
Jeff Ellis PhD is the Senior Technology Leader of the ultrasonics group at EWI. He is responsible for steering EWI’s plastics technology roadmap, developing strategies for external engagements, innovating new plastics technologies through internal research and development, and ensuring high technical quality of proposals and reports for customer projects.
Jeff has been studying the interactions of polymeric materials with their surrounding environment since 2004. For the latter half of his career, his focus has been using process, structure, and exposure properties to determine root cause failures of polymeric devices. During this time, he has consulted for many Fortune 500 companies in health care, consumer products, military, and automotive, among other markets. Jeff’s work has been implemented in all phases of the product development cycle, from ideation of a new product to failure analysis and subsequent solution implementation of an existing product. Many of these projects utilized his expertise in polymer processing, selection, failure analysis, testing, degradation, and aging. With this experience, Jeff has been able to help clients develop and produce a wide range of robust and reliable products.
