John Logar Johnson & Johnson

John Logar works for the Johnson & Johnson Sterility Assurance group as the Director, Radiation Sterilization. John is responsible for radiation processing (gamma, high & low energy electron beam, and X-ray) across Johnson & Johnson and is responsible for sterility assurance functions in J&J Consumer and Ethicon Endo-Surgery R&D. He is a member of the J&J Sterility Assurance Leadership Team and a Co-lead for the J&J Sterilization Council. John has 18 years of experience in sterilization and is an industry recognized expert in gamma radiation (Co-60), high energy electron beam and X-radiation (X-ray) processing, including radiation processing dosimetry. Prior to joining the Sterility Assurance group, John was the Associate Director for the Sterilization Science & Technology group in Research & Development for Ethicon, Inc.. In this assignment John lead his team in successfully supporting product launches including the first terminally sterilized combination product approved for Ethicon. Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson and Ethicon in 2008, John worked for Sterigenics International as the Director of Radiation Dosimetry in the Radiation Services group. He currently serves as the Chairman of ASTM Committee E61 on Radiation Processing and is the convener of ISO/TC85 Working Group 3 on Radiation Dosimetry. He is an active member in AAMI, ASTM, CIRMS, iiA and ISO. In addition, he has contributed to numverous sterilization industry publications on radiation dosimetry, high energy x-ray irradiation, and high energy e-beam irradiation. In 2010, he was recognized through his work in ASTM and received the Peter D. Hedgcock award for outstanding contribtion the the Nuclear industry. John has a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics from Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ.
