Katharina Schallmoser, MD Paracelsus Medical University (PMU) Salzburg, Austria

Dr. Schallmoser graduated in Medicine from the Medical University of Graz, Austria. After completing post-doctoral research fellowships in Internal Medicine and Biochemistry focusing on platelet immunology and platelet function, she worked as physician researcher at the Department of Transfusion Medicine of the Medical Universities of Graz and Vienna. As a member of the Stem Cell Research Unit at the Medical University of Graz, she contributed to the development of human platelet lysate as a raw material for cell culture and GMP-compliant production of endothelial and mesenchymal stem/progenitor cells. In 2013, she was appointed Vice Chair, Senior Physician and Senior Scientist at the Department of Transfusion Medicine of the PMU Salzburg, responsible for the production and optimization of GMP-compliant human platelet-derived cell culture supplements.
