Martina Kopp, PhD Amgen

Martina Kopp is a Director Process Development where she is leading the Cellular Sciences organization with groups responsible for adventitious agent method development and testing, viral and microbial control and safety strategies, critical reagents and regulatory deliverables. Her broad range of expertise is in molecular and cell biology, virology, biochemistry and protein chemistry and viral safety evaluation of mammalian cell culture processes. Her academic career is solidly grounded in virology studies of both RNA and DNA viruses. Martina holds a PhD degree from the University of Greifswald, Germany, in Virology and completed her postdoctoral studies at the Laboratory of Virology and Infectious Diseases at The Rockefeller University, New York. Martina joined Amgen in 2011 as a scientist to lead the Biosafety Development team and throughout her Amgen career was also responsible for Cell Banking MFG and viral vector enabling technologies in support of Cell Therapy programs.
