Salvador Grancha, PhD Bioscience Industrial Group Grifols

Salvador Grancha studied Biology at the University of Valencia. He started to work as a researcher in the Spanish Public Health Service in Valencia were he obtained his PhD in Biomedicine in 1996 (extraordinary prize degree) for his work in fibrinolysis. Part of this work was performed at the laboratories of The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California (USA).

After his degree, he remained in the Department of Biochemistry of the Hospital La Fe in Valencia working mainly on the biochemistry and molecular biology aspects of thrombophilia until 1998, when he joined the R&D team at Instituto Grifols S.A., focused on coagulation and new protein development. Currently he is R&D Vicepresident at Bioscience Industrial Group in Grifols, Barcelona, Spain. Dr. Grancha has been a formerly invited reviewer of scientific journals; invited member of the Spanish Proteomics National Institute User’s Committee and has also collaborated as invited investigator of the group 6B of the European Pharmacopeia. Dr. Grancha is author of several national and international articles, communications and product patents.
