Yukio Hiyama National Institute of Health Sciences

Yukio Hiyama, Visiting Scientist (Retired in 2011), National Institutes of Health Sciences (NIHS), MHLW, obtained a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Tokyo in 1979. He worked as post-doc at Chemistry Department of University of Illinois Urbana Champaign and as Visiting Associate at National Institutes of Health Bethesda before he joined a US Pharmaceutical company. After 14 years in industry, he took a position at NIHS of MHLW. Since then, his focus has been on application of pharmaceutical quality controls. He is the topic leader of ICH Q9 and Q10 for MHLW. Currently he is serving as Rapporteur of ICH Q2(R2)/Q14 expert working group.
